Muslim-Friendly Tours in Bosnia and the Balkans

Halal-Friendly Travel with a Local Team

Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the easiest places in Europe for Muslim travellers. Sarajevo has been home to mosques, Islamic schools and Ottoman bazaars for more than 500 years, halal food is everywhere, and the call to prayer still sounds across the old town. We are a local team from Sarajevo, and we plan our Muslim-friendly tours the way we would want to travel ourselves.

Every Muslim-friendly tour is private, so the day follows your rhythm: prayer times, meals and rest.

What a Muslim-friendly tour with us includes

  • Halal restaurants every day, recommended by your driver-guide, including outside Bosnia.
  • Time for prayer built into the schedule, with stops at mosques along the route.
  • Family-friendly hotels in good locations, such as inside Sarajevo’s old town.
  • Islamic heritage sites: the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo, the Dervish house in Blagaj, the Colourful Mosque in Travnik and the Ottoman bridges of Mostar and Višegrad.
  • A private driver-guide who explains the history of each place, including the difficult chapters, from different perspectives.

Muslim-friendly tour ideas

  • Sarajevo, 1–3 days: the old town, Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, the Tunnel of Hope and the city viewpoints. See our private Sarajevo tours.
  • Bosnia, 5–7 days: Sarajevo, Mostar, Blagaj, Počitelj, Jajce and Travnik. See our tailor-made Bosnia tours.
  • The Balkans, 7–15 days: Bosnia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and North Macedonia, with halal restaurants arranged across the whole route. See our tailor-made Balkan tours.

What our guests say

“One of the main reasons we chose Tour Mage was that they offered a Muslim-friendly tour. Muris also recommended halal restaurants. Overall, this was a wonderful family experience.” – Mohd Amaluddin Yusoff, Google
