The Sarajevo Grand Tour is our most popular Sarajevo city tour and the easiest way to see the whole story of Bosnia’s capital in one day. In about five hours you combine a guided walk through the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Old Town with a drive to the places that most visitors never reach on foot.
With a local guide who grew up in Sarajevo you visit the Tunnel of Hope museum, the lifeline of the city during the 1992–1995 siege, walk along the graffiti-covered 1984 Olympic bobsleigh track on Mount Trebević, stop at the old Jewish Cemetery on the former front line and enjoy the best panoramic view of Sarajevo from the Yellow Fortress. The tour ends with a two-hour walk through Baščaršija, Gazi Husrev-beg’s Mosque, the Latin Bridge and the spot where the assassination that started World War I took place.

Elvis is one of the best tour guides we have ever encountered in our travels around the world. At each stop, Elvis gave informative, interesting explanations. As a native, he spoke with passion and a personal perspective. Half of the tour was in a minivan, and the other half walking through old town. Although this is a group tour, our family of 4 were the only participants. Thankfully, the tour company did not cancel. Highly recommended.

Elvis really took his time with us and I liked Sarajevo before, but now I am smitten in love with it. Already planning on coming back soon. It was just the two of us with him, so it made it all the more special. Elvis in general was just the nicest person and most enjoyable and interesting to chat with. This is THE tour to choose when visiting Sarajevo. Thank you Elvis. Also wanted to add, get ready for some walking, but my 75 year old husband with a cane was able to enjoy the entire tour, so don't let that stop you.

June 16, 2026A must tour! We learned a lot in less than a day. Elvis was an excellent and a professional guide. He picked us up on time in a sparkling clean car and provided us water. He showed us almost the entire Sarajevo and discussed history and culture. He provided traditional Bosnian lunch which was delicious and a lot. He also treated us to Turkish coffee and delights. After greetings, we were on our way for the walking tour part of the grand tour. I am embarrassed to say I do not remember our guides name. And I didn’t document it on my phone either. I will say that he was very good as a walking guide, and equally as good with driving around the area. He was very knowledgeable, and a joy to visit with, and share stories with. Very personable. We had a lovely day too. My wife had our guide to ourselves today, so all the attention was on us. It was so much fun. We made it to all of the promised locations. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and the hours flew by. We finished our tour with a sit down for Bosnian coffee in the old town. I would do this tour again if I came back to Sarajevo. See all 8 photos

Adnan picked up up from our apartment on a Mercedes mini van, so the transportation was very comfortable.His English is perfect, he was so helpful and understanding. There were only two of us in the group and we were brought through the ages of the city from before the Ottoman Empire to present day seeing many of the pivotal locations that helped shape the country. If you get the chance you should definitely do this tour.

October 6, 2023What a fantastic day! Tripadvisor review: Sarajevo Grand Tour For a long time now I’ve wanted to visit the Balkans, especially Sarajevo. I did the tour on my first day there after arriving. My guide was Elvis who did an amazing job. I was the only one on the tour that day, which is crazy now that I am on full packed buses on other tours. The trip was just the right pace. It’s hard to write about the Tunnel museum and evidence of the war everywhere, but growing up in the 80s in the US I felt it was important to try and understand what happened. This was my favorite tour of my 11 country trip. I think it was because it wasn’t just a city, it was a landscape with a long history that I’m beginning now to understand. The guide, Enes, was a true professional taking time to make sure that his guests had the full experience of Sarajevo and sharing the rich culture, while providing interesting historical information for each place visited. He took his time to make sure that we had a great experience. This tour is a must-do for anyone visiting Sarajevo for the first time.

June 7, 2023Fantastic Must Do Tour Tripadvisor review: Sarajevo Grand Tour This tour was booked to give us a good overview of Sarajevo with both a history and the war and old town walking tour rolled into one. In the morning we went to the Sarajevo Tunnel and got to experience the way people had to get things in and out of Sarajevo during the siege. Enes the guide also took us to have a Bosnian coffee with the next door neighbour who's husband had also been involved with the creation of the tunnel and who owned the truck now on display. There was lots of insight into the siege and the concert by Bruce Dickenson (Iron Maiden). We followed this up with stops at the bobsleigh track and the Jewish cemetery, all with great insight and background input from Enes. After the morning we stopped and had lunch in the old town and Enes selected a range of traditional Bosnian dishes for us to try (this was not really part of the tour, but worked for us as we had to pick up extra guests for the afternoon part), and this was a great experience, and very tasty. The walking tour of the old town took us past the main sights and was a great second part of the tour. This is an absolute must do tour if you are in Sarajevo, you get everything in one tour and out guide was great.

I'm a vegetarian, he took me right place for lunch, tasty and pretty too. He is full of positivity and a gentleman. Sarajevo's tiny tidbits of history, culture, people, religion, food, perfect spots for pictures, emotions of war, the bazars it's all in one! It's takes a while to get all that in the head. It's visually captivating and mentally challenging to get all that complicated history right, if one doesn't read a bit before arriving in Sarajevo.
